3 Question to The Trail Chairman of the board Dan O’Connor

Hello Dan

Q1 – The challenge for today’s veteran?

Today’s veterans are often confronted with a multitude of complex and diverse service offers, with cumbersome administrative criteria and processes. A transition to civilian life that requires a lot of resilience from the veteran and his family.

Q2 – How does the Trail team help?

At The Trail, we want to support veterans in this delicate phase of their lives and facilitate their integration into their communities. To do this, The Trail relies on collaborators specialized in psychosocial support and on the network of social organizations.

Q3 – Does this sound like a different approach?

Our approach is unique in Quebec.

Thanks Dan

3 Questions to the GM of the Trail, Bruno Plourde

Hello Bruno,

Q1 -The Trail has a centre in Montreal since the fall of 2021?

Yes, located in Montreal, in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district, at 5654 Monkland, we are 600 metres near Metro Villa-Maria. Contact details are on this site. In short, the service centre is at the heart of our intervention with veterans, it is the gateway to our services with members of the Trail team on site.

Q2 – Services for veterans are?

They will find a place allowing immediate and timely access, an accompaniment adapted to their rhythm with kindness and respect. We accompany the veteran from the simple administrative issue to any other subject for their transition. We listen. Also veterans will be able to take advantage of the spaces for socialization, research and our various programs.

Q3 – In short, a full-service place?

Yes, but more, because like the theatre, there is a lot behind the curtain. The centre is the result of consultation and collaboration with community and veteran support organizations as well as federal and provincial government and institutional actors. At Le Sentier we are a team that works as a team.

Thanks Bruno

3 Questions to Chantal Soucy – Director – programs and services to veterans – The Trail

Hello Chantal,

Q1 – You have been a director at The Trail since November 2021, a new challenge?

A logical path for me. The Trail and Équi-Sens have been working together for a few years in supporting veterans and I got to know them. Their vision and the collaborative approach in facilitating access to services and programs for veterans encouraged me to join them. Also, after 17 years with Équi-Sens, I have put together a solid team. I won’t be too far from my little pony who has grown well.

Q2 – Your challenges upon arrival?

The Trail approach is innovative, working in collaboration with community organizations as well as governments to help the veteran in transition. The Trail has the resources and with my team, we will develop, set up and operate the various programs and services to the Trail locations.

Q3 – Quite a Program ?

Yes, The Trail is expanding and keep an eye on them in the coming months. All my experience and my journey have led me on the trail of The Trail. Through my involvement with Equi-Sens, the cause of veterans is very dear to me.

Thank you Chantal
